The first official Harry Potter: Wizards Unite Brilliant Event will begin on July 3, 2019 at 1PM PST or 4PM EST for all players on compatible devices in regions where the game has been officially released. In this Brilliant Event, players will be able to add special, Brilliant Foundables to their Registry. Players will have just a few days to get these Brilliant Foundables as the event will end on July 10.
A Brilliant Event was held for players in Australia and New Zealand while the game was still in beta and the Brilliant Foundables in the new event will likely be the same. Some Foundables that were available in that event were Brilliant Buckbeak, Brilliant Salamander, and the Brilliant Scorched Tree Stump.
The Brilliant Foundables aren’t the only thing that Harry Potter: Wizards Unite players can get out of the Brilliant Events. The events also have special rewards such as Restricted Section Books which can be used to unlock things on the Profession skill tree. Restricted Section Books seem to only be available through Brilliant Events, making them a rare resource.
Brilliant Events also have Special Assignments which are tasks such as dining at Inns, unlocking Portkeys, and returning Brilliant Foundables. Completing these tasks offers rewards such as those Restricted Section Books. So, while some players may just be looking at the Brilliant Foundables, they’ll want to look at the Special Assignments list too for other ways to get the rewards. These Special Assignments are available throughout the event and don’t reset every day like Daily Assignments, so players will have a bit more time to complete them.
Harry Potter: Wizards Unite didn’t get off to as strong a start as Pokemon GO did. However, Niantic has plans to support the game for a while by making changes that fans have asked for, such as the Spell Energy update, and by hosting events like these. This may be the first Brilliant Event, but fans can expect much more.
