When the fifth episode of Hawkeye premiered, many fans were prepared for that big villain reveal. Social media had been abuzz with conversations about Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin and fans were relieved to see their theory come to fruition. However, what they didn’t see coming was an extended and meaningful conversation between Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop and Pugh’s Yelena Belova.

Steinfeld took to Instagram to celebrate the release of the fifth episode of Hawkeye and shared a picture of Pugh eating some instant macaroni and cheese. As part of the Hawkeye episode, Yelena and Bishop come face-to-face once again, with the latter finally discovering that Yelena is Natasha Romanoff’s sister. The tense conversation begins over a bowl of dinner that Yelena has prepared, simply because she got hungry while waiting for Bishop to arrive.

The confrontation scene is one of the most important ones in the series so far, and both Steinfeld and Pugh put on a splendid performance. The conversation is both funny and serious, while Yelena is being friendly and threatening at the same time. However, Pugh doesn’t look threatening at all in Steinfeld’s image that was taken on set. She holds up the bowl of macaroni that her character prepares in the scene for the camera, and puts on a cheeky smile. For those wondering, Pugh did in fact douse her macaroni with hot sauce, as is evident in the photograph.

While the actors clearly had fun filming the scene, as can be seen in the behind-the-scenes image, Yelena’s arrival in Hawkeye has much darker implications. She has arrived in Clint Barton’s world for a purpose - to kill him. In the dinner scene, she even warns Bishop to stay out of her way.

With just one episode of Hawkeye remaining, it would be interesting to see Barton deal with the Black Widow who is out for his blood and the “big guy” Kingpin who would not appreciate any interference from an Avenger at this point.
